We have worked hard over the past several years to provide members of Freedom21 Federal Credit Union with low-cost financial services. However, with low membership growth we have not been able to add the services that many of you have asked for. It is for this reason that we announce that Freedom21 FCU is merging with Southern Security Federal Credit Union as of October 1, 2009.

Southern Security FCU offers a wide variety of services that you have requested. They offer checking accounts, debit cards and online banking with free bill payment services. They offer a wide variety of loans with lower rates than we can offer, plus credit cards. You will also have access to over 3800 credit union branches nationwide through their shared branching network. Check out their website at SouthernSecurity.org.

Your Board of Directors has not made this decision lightly. As we are committed to serving your financial needs, we think this is the best decision. We thank you for your support and have truly enjoyed serving you these years.

We will provide statements to you through September 30. On October 1, Southern Security will serve you. They will send out your new account number and information about the merger at that time.
